Fanning the Flame of Principled Leadership

Keystone Regional Leadership Conference

Keystone Regional Leadership Conferences are a high quality, regional education experience focusing on chapter officer development, principled leadership and volunteer training. 2009 marked the final phase of Keystone's expansion as it now services all chapters of the Fraternity. Six Keystone programs are offered annually. Keystone received the Excellence in Educational Programming Award from the Association of Fraternity/Sorority Advisors in December 2008.

Keystone Conference Regional Leadership Conference 2022 (In-Person)

Who:
A limited number of chapters are invited, based on geographic proximity and/or the Fraternity's desire to pilot new programming with a wide cross-section of chapters from across North America.

Attendance is strongly recommended. Chapters should contact their chapter development consultant if there is a conflict that prevents attendance.

Invited chapters include:

Boise State, Bowling Green, Butler, Carleton, Case Western Reserve, Centre, Cincinnati, Dayton, Denison, DePauw, Eastern Kentucky, Florida Atlantic, Georgia Tech, Illinois, Indiana, John Carroll, Kennesaw State, Kentucky, Kenyon, Kettering A, Kettering B, Louisville, Miami, Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio, Ohio State, Purdue, Saint Louis, Southern California, TCU, Toledo, UCLA, Vanderbilt, Villanova, Wabash, Washington, Wittenberg

Every chapter should bring these five officers:

    1. Chapter President
    2. VP of Risk Management
    3. VP of Recruitment
    4. Diversity and Inclusion Chairman
If your chapter does not have this position, consider appointing one in January. Here is a position description and operating calendar for that role.
    5. Chapter Advisor
Preference is for the advisor to be someone who works directly with one of the officers listed above. However, it’s most important to have an advisor attend, regardless of position.

About one-third of the weekend will include position-specific training. Therefore, it is critical that the correct officers attend.

When:
February 18-20, 2022

Attendees should arrive at the conference hotel by 5:00 p.m. ET on Friday and may depart at 12:00 p.m. ET on Sunday.

Where:
The Westin Indianapolis
241 W Washington St.
Indianapolis, IN 46204

Lodging:
Attendees do not need to make hotel reservations. Hotel accommodations are covered in the registration and are arranged by the Administrative Office staff.

Cost:
Chapters will be charged $100 per undergraduate officer ($400 total). However, chapters that attend with a full delegation of the correct officers will receive a full refund of these fees. There is no charge for advisors.

Transportation Subsidy:
The Fraternity will subsidize travel for your team according to the following guidelines:

    • $50 for chapters within a 1-hour drive
    • $100 for chapters within a 1-3 hour drive
    • $150 for chapters within a 3-5 hour drive
    • $300 per person for chapters that fly (must be outside a 5-hour driving range)

Stipends will be given the week after the in-person event, based on actual attendance.

Chapters are responsible for arranging their own travel to Indianapolis. Questions about logistics should be directed to Assistant Director of Leadership and Education Cody Golden.

Deadline:
Registration closes Thursday, January 20.

COVID-19 Protocols:
The Fraternity continues to monitor the pandemic and requires vaccines for our winter programs. You will be required to show evidence of your COVID-19 vaccination (photo of card is acceptable).

If you have a medical or religious exemption, a negative COVID-19 test will be required within 72 hours of the event and you will need to provide evidence of the exemption (medical – doctor's note; religious – personal statement).
